Abstracts Submission

The submitted abstract should include: Title, background/aim, methods, results and conclusion. In the Background/Aims section, comprehensive information on the reasons for the study should be given. Questions or hypotheses must be clearly stated. The methods section must provide information so that the reviewers understand how the study/experiments were conducted. Indicate the methods of statistical analysis and levels of significance. The results section should contain data to support the conclusions. Extended discussions or literature reviews should be avoided. Abstracts should be typed in Arial 11 font. Abstracts must not contain more than 350 words.

Only abstracts submitted until August 1st 2008, will be reviewed by the scientific committee.

Oral presentation

Only powerpoint presentations (Windows) will be accepted. Authors must indicate their category of choice on the abstract form. Authors may choose one of the following categories:
  • 6 minute presentation plus 4 minutes for discussion
  • 3 minute presentation plus 2 minutes for discussion
  • Poster presentation - The posters should have the following size: height 100cm, width 70cm
Publication, Submission of Manuscript - The best selected papers will be published in the Pediatic Surgery International. Manuscripts (which should be prepared in the style used in Pediatric Surgery International) must be received no later than 15th September 2008 by Professor Prem Puri, Secretary of the Scientific Committee for evaluation. Notification - Authors will be informed regarding the acceptance or rejection of their submissions before the 15th of August 2008.
